[Image taken 5.10.22] Skeldergate, York. It was wet. Seeing this cheered me, as did the fact the couple didn't mind stopping for a chat. They had met at the University of York decades ago and "always enjoy returning to the city". Did they buy the umbrella in the Dutch capital? Yes. Had they chosen the design intentionally? No. It had been raining and this was the only one they could see. But the other half of the couple did say he was a member of Sustrans (www.sustrans.org.uk). Five minutes later I stopped and chatted to two of that organisation's on-the-cycle-path sales squad on the bridge above: #186536.
